ABOUT LDS WARD CHOIRS

A typical ward (congregation) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has a choir staffed and directed by lay-people. They are unpaid. Choir members are volunteers; the director is called to their post by the bishop of the ward by inspiration and can come from any walk of life.

Thus most LDS ward choirs are led by people who have a lot of other responsibilities and not necessarily a lot of experience or spare time. The Lord has appointed them to their positions; the Lord inspires them in their positions; the Lord makes wonderful things come from their work.

USING THIS SITE

This blog represents my collection of public domain materials for use in constructing Christmas and Easter sacrament meeting programs. They are labeled by subject so directors can quickly find easily-sung materials for their choirs to sing and/or readings (poetry, prose, verses from songs) to supplement the usual scriptural readings.
